Editorial | US' immoral Israel weapons sales
It is shocking that the Joe Biden administration in the US has approved about $20 billion in new weapons sales to Israel over the next few years. At a time when many Western countries are becoming more vocal in their calls for an arms embargo on Israel , it is shocking that the Joe Biden administration in the US has approved about $20 billion in new weapons sales to Israel over the next few years.
Notification of the pending sale was sent to Congress on Tuesday. It includes F-15 fighter jets, 120mm tank ammunition, tactical vehicles, AMRAAM anti-aircraft missiles and high-explosive mortars. The following year, more than 32 000 120mm tank-ammunition cartridges are estimated to arrive in Israel. The announcement was made in a week that the death toll in Gaza crossed the 40 000 mark. It comes a week after Israel bombed a school in Gaza, killing 80 people.
