Regional EIS secretary, Andrew O'Halloran, says teachers are 'fully behind' Unison members who have voted for further industrial action
A teaching union has urged the council not to become a “laughing stock” when school support staff walk out again.
It’s the second round of industrial action Unison members – including learning assistants, kitchen, cleaning, janitorial and administration staff, have taken. He said: “Teachers are fully behind Unison members who will soon be back on strike. We understand the challenges they face, and we could not do our jobs without their support.
The union’s Scottish secretary, Lilian Macer, said: “Workers are taking action because they want children to be educated in well-resourced, well-staffed schools. They want to start trying to reverse years of cuts and under-investment in the workforce and services.”
