WestJet and union ratify agreement to avoid strike action by 800 customer service agents and baggage handlers in Calgary and Vancouver yyc travel
This was the first collective bargaining agreement between the Calgary-based airline and the union, since employees organized in, they had been negotiating since October. The CBA goes into effect on Sept. 1 and will expire Dec. 31, 2026.
“It’s been nine months at the bargaining table, but we’re really happy we have a deal and we’re going to continue to build a relationship with WestJet,” said Scott Doherty, lead negotiator and executive assistant to Unifor’s national president.
