Driving home after a hectic gym session Bongani Khunjwa, a professional nurse, saw a man bleeding on the side of the road after having been hit by a car.

"I arrived moments after the accident; the poor man was surrounded by people. Some kept on taking pictures and videos. As soon as I saw what was happening, I ran over to assist, my humanity would not allow me to drive past," Khunjwa said. The 30-year-old Khunjwa said the patient had a head injury.

"He was heavily bleeding from his upper body, the head specifically. I bandaged him, and assisted as necessary to prevent further blood loss.""I used my first aid kit from my car. I travel with it everywhere I go," he said."I don’t consider my profession to be a job, because when you have a job, you have some time off to yourself. I live it daily, it's within me, 24 hours a day, employed or not," he said.
