Two people were taken to hospital for gunshot wounds early Saturday morning after police responded to reports of gunshots in the city’s northeast.
Calgary police were called to the area just before 6 a.m. near the 3600 block of 36 Street N.E. When officers arrived they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and provided first aid until EMS arrived.
Approximately 10 minutes later, police received reports that a woman had been taken to the hospital by friends to be treated for a gunshot wound. CPS said both victims were injured in the same shooting but it is unclear if they knew one another. Police are in the early stages of their investigation, performing ballistic tests and interviewing multiple witnesses. No one has been taken into custody.
