FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION — Members of Fort William First Nation will go to the polls on May 27 to elect a new chief and council.Former chief Georjann Morriseau and three-term council member Michelle Solomon are seeking the top job.
They include the former chief, Peter Collins, who stepped down last September to serve as CEO of a company formed by eight First Nations that have partnered with Hydro One to build the Waasigan Transmission Project.The election was originally scheduled to be conducted on April 7, but was postponed after a procedural error and the resignation of the electoral officer.
