An active officer and retired member of the Belleville Police Service received the Order of Merit of the Police Forces from Governer General Mary Simon this week.Deputy Chief Chris Barry was invested as the Officer of the Order at a ceremony.outstanding meritorious service in duties of responsibility over an extended period, usually at the regional or provincial level.
At the same ceremony, Nadine Langlois, a retired member of the Belleville Police Service and a Human Resources and Financial Administrator, was invested as a Member of the Order.Less than one percent of police officers in Canada receive the award.
