Political Analyst Levy Ndou says newly elected Tshwane MMCs is a fair representation of parties.
This after Tshwane’s newly elected mayor, Dr Nasiphi Moya announced her new mayoral committee yesterday at the Tshwane House.
The multiparty coalition comprises of ActionSA, Economic Freedom Fighters, African National Congress and GOOD. Amongst the portfolios appointed, MMC for Housing and Settlements is Aaron Maluleka from the ANC, Economic Development and Spatial Planning is Sarah Mabotsa from the GOOD Party, MMC for Health is Tshegofatso Mashabela of the EFF and Community Safety MMC is occupied by Alderman Coetzee of ActionSA.
Ndou says this reflects a proportional representation based on the parties’ performances during the elections. “But the overall winner in this whole exercise is the ActionSA and the ANC. ActionSA’s mission to ensure that the DA is removed from power as bad fruits and that is what they plan to do, and it has also happened. The desire by the ANC to be in charge in the City of Tshwane has also beared fruits because indeed they got many of the portfolios in the City of Tshwane.
