Dr Nasiphi Moya says she does not have any expectations for Tshwane mayoral position.

City of Tshwane Acting Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya says she does not have any expectations for the mayoral position but hopes for speedy negotiations.

ActionSA has pronounced Moya as the preferred candidate following the removal of Cilliers Brink last week. However, the ANC which has the majority is yet to announce their candidate as negotiations are ongoing. The DA is not planning to go down without a fight and will field Brink again. Councilors have two weeks to elect a new mayor.“I’m not part of the negotiations, my president made the pronouncement and said should we get the position, this is the name, but I think it’s too early when it comes to negotiations. I must be honest two weeks is not a long time. I would want the elections to happen in less than the 14 days the legislation gives us.
