Western P.E.I. festival to to be held July 17 to 23

Valene Gallant is delighted to announce that, two weeks after it was initially cancelled, the P.E.I. Potato Blossom Festival in O'Leary is back on. – Contributed She organized another public meeting on April 10 and this time around 55 people attended. By the time the meeting concluded, most had signed up to volunteer, while around half put their name forward as potential new board members.After confirming that there were enough volunteers to organize an event for this summer, Gallant held a second meeting on April 19 to form the new executive.
“I feel a lot better now than I did when I heard that it was definitely cancelled,” he said. “It’s definitely a need for this area. I think it’s a good thing, and I’m kind of glad that it is back on.”
