Lescott, who played a pivotal role in two league-winning City sides during his five-year stay at the club, chatted exclusively to Soccer Laduma about his successful time with the Manchester-based team, where he shared a dressing room with some high-profile players.
The likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany were among those he took to the field with on a weekly basis, but it was Toure who Lescott hailed as his best-ever teammate. "Yaya, the best player I played with. His 2013/14 season I believe is one the best midfielder seasons, statistics-wise," he said.
"Especially now that the game is kind of dictated and judged upon stats. That season alone, 20 goals, 11 assists, but his pass accuracy for the season was 90%, which is ridiculous because he didn't play safe. He took risks."He just had the ability to win a game. I was lucky enough to play with some of the greats of the game, but Yaya had the ability to affect the game in a capacity that, if he played well, you're going to win.
