No charges laid as investigation continues into the collision in the Mimico neighbourhood, police say.
A one year-old died Thursday night after a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man hit the boy in a parking lot in Etobicoke, according to police.On Aug. 18, at 7:28 p.m. Toronto police received a report that the child had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of 2355 Lakeshore Boulevard West in the Mimico area. The boy was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle then hit the boy, said Const. Sean Shapiro. The specific relationship between the driver and boy is not known at this time, but the driver was not a family member, he added.Shapiro said he is not aware of the family making a statement.It was originally reported that the boy was two years-old, but he was just shy of turning two, Shapiro said.
