The procurement of a NASAMS air defence system for Ukraine announced, by the prime minister while in Mexico, is to be lauded, but it prompts the question: What about air defence for the Canadian Forces?
How difficult would it be to buy two NASAMS, one for Ukraine and one for the Canadian Forces? If the federal government can expedite the NASAMS procurement for Ukraine, why could it not do the same for here without the normal decades-long spiralling cost procurement system we currently endure for military capabilities and equipment?Article contentNothing exemplifies more the duplicity of the Trudeau government than the purchase of the NASAMS air defence system for Ukraine.
But the writer’s facts are out of context and do not refute the well-established views of Canadian historians Jack Granatstein and Robert Bothwell, who describe the elder Trudeau years as “a long dark night of the spirit.” Trudeau’s heavy hand in the chaos of Armed Forces unification led to a civilianization of the military hierarchy and the almost immediate reduction of the Forces from 110,000 to 70,000.
A lot of students are not learning to their full potential because their primary needs are not being met. This often leads to frustration and unacceptable behaviours. Those students who are “dysregulated”need to be in smaller special classes, not in the mainstream. In special classes with specifically trained teachers, individual needs such as learning disabilities, behavioural, ADHD, autism etc. can be met effectively.
