As kids head out to trick or treat Monday on another COVID\u002D19 Halloween night, Ottawa Public Health has a few tips to help keep everyone safe.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and don’t hand out candy at the door. Don’t go to parties even if your symptoms are mild, says OPH.
For the Omicron variants of COVID-19 that now dominate in Ontario, common symptoms include runny nose or congestion, sore throat, cough, headache and fatigue. According to the Ontario government’s school screening tool for students, any of these COVID-19 symptoms mean you should stay home: fever; cough; shortness of breath; decrease in smell or taste; muscle aches; extreme tiredness; sore throat; runny nose not caused by other things like allergies; headache; nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; abdominal pain; pink eye; and decreased appetite in young children.
