Cayden Monaghan is behind bars
A Leeds teenager left a teenage girl battered and bruised in a series of violent attacks. Cayden Monaghan, 19, attacked the girl in a spate of incidents, Bradford Crown Court heard on Friday.
It was September 9 that he became violent again. The court heard the girl was on her way to a friend's and had taken her gilet off when Monaghan appeared, ripping it away from her and grabbing her mobile phone. Monaghan went on to plead guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault. He had previous convictions and was made the subject of a caution for battery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm during a community order imposed in 2022.
The barrister added: "Clearly, he didn't meet the very high barrier for adult mental health services and he was referred to his GP." Recorder Turner jailed Monaghan for 26 months and told him: "We don't have it confirmed it was a broken nose, but never the less, this was a very unpleasant injury for her. I take the view that your offending is so serious that only immediate custody is justified.
