An Garda Siochana are investigating the circumstances around the woman's death
The body of a woman in her 20s, understood to be from Northern Ireland, has been discovered in the Ulster Canal in Monaghan town.
An Garda Siochana are investigating the circumstances around the 23-year-old woman's death after her body was recovered from the canal at 8.30am on St Patrick's Day. A postmortem examination has been arranged by An Garda Siochana officers investigating the death, and the force says the results of the postmortem will determine the next steps for the investigation."Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances of a discovery of a body in County Monaghan on Sunday 17th March 2024," a statement said.
