Three things to look out for in the Carling Knockout Last 16

The Carling Black Label Knockout continues this weekend, with Mamelodi Sundowns already out of the competition.

This is the first Carling Black Label Knockout Cup, and another chance for the Buccaneers to grab some silverware. On paper, it doesn’t get easier in an all DStv Premiership knockout competition than a home game against a side that have lost eight out of eight in the league so far, and that has already sacked head coach Shaun Bartlett, replacing him with former technical director Sean Connor.

Chiefs’ results have continued to be inconsistent since then, however, and coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat at home to Cape Town City, Amakhosi need another nerve-settling win on Saturday at FNB Stadium. The eight year trophy drought is an embarrassment to Amakhosi, and the Carling Knockout Cup represents another chance to remedy that situation.
