Much like his mother, King Charles loves to spend time in Scotland
It's well-known that the Royal Family have strong links to Scotland, stemming from the days of Queen Victoria, and much like his mother, King Charles loves spending time here. So much so, that he has several residences and holiday homes here where he loves to spend his summers.
He was often pictured in his trademark kilt taking both William and Harry out on adventures around the estate. Birkhall, Balmoral The former home of his grandmother, Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, on the Balmoral Estate, King Charles inherited the cottage in 2002 which she was fond of describing as her ‘little big house’.

The stunning stronghold near John O’ Groats was derelict when she bought it over in the early 1950s and after having renovated it, finally opened it to the public.
