The end result was stellar, earning Canada an 11th place standing from a total of 24 nations who participated – whittled down from 60 countries who first tried out for the event.The chefs had their work cut out for them: In an atmosphere reminiscent of a noisy athletic arena, the team fought their way through the five-and-a-half-hour culinary battle that saw them using a variety of familiar – and not so familiar – ingredients to create a show-stopping platter of visual beauty and delicious fare.
This was the first Bocuse d’Or post-pandemic, said Chef Leung, adding the “competition was fierce but I’m very happy…I’m pretty proud of our position I’m very excited to prepare for the next one.”
