The 9-8 decision kept the Lethbridge Curling Club — consisting of 35-year-old skip Scheidegger, third Kate Hogan, second Jessie Haughian and lead Taylor McDonald — from claiming the Alberta crown again this season. But by virtue of their high spot in the Canadian Team Ranking System standings — in sixth position — they became a shoo-in for one of three wild-card teams qualifying for the national finale, hosted by the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.
