It's incredibly popular and apparently it's as close to the real deal as you can get.
If there is one thing we Scots love, it's the humble square sausage and one popular Glasgow-based café has created a way for vegans to still enjoy this ultimate breakfast treat.
Owner Ben Rose joked that when they first launched, he'd never seen a buzz like it, selling over 200 of the vegan square sausages in five days.Speaking about how they originally came about, Ben explained: "Caroline [Melville], who has worked with me for years, took a year out to go to Australia, she is a vegan and she just had a longing for some food from home.
Delighted with the results, Caroline brought it back with her before showing Ben who took it on full-time at the café. Ben adds: "The thing with making vegan food is that often it doesn't translate very well but for some reason, this works really well and I think it's because it uses all of the same spices as the butchers use.
