Great news for Glasgow's vegan food lovers.
It's the news that vegans in Glasgow have been waiting for, one of the city centre's much-loved plant-based cafes is set to re-open this month after current owner Arita Bereza ended her search for someone to take over.
Arita Bereza, who opened the Glasvegan in St Enoch Square in 2018, made the 'devastating' decision to step away and had been set to close the eatery for good on November 27, with Glaswegians worried they'd lose the popular eatery. Though Arita had exhausted all options to save the café herself, she decided to offer it to someone as passionate as she is about the plant-based lifestyle.Thankfully, a new owner has been found and it seems the popular café will now reopen for Veganuary, with the date for relaunch on January 14.
It's been confirmed that the café will keep its name, though whether it holds on to its unique 'Pure, Deid Vegan' signage, is yet to be determined. The sign caused a few raised eyebrows when it was first put up , forcing Latvian Arita to explain that 'dead' instead of 'deid' might confuse non-Glaswegians as to what they were actually serving.
