Inspired by what she calls the “warm, friendly, whimsical” vibes of Korean bakeries, Kim Ng started The Good Goods to offer up Asian-inspired baked goodies. StarTogether

For budding baker Kim Ng, what was the best thing about baking chocolate-chip cookies with her mom growing up? “It fascinated me that we could make something with just a few ingredients and some time,” she says. Ng tried other hobbies, including jewelry-making, food photography and novel-writing, but she most appreciated the ability to quickly create something from almost nothing.

The semi-sweet treats have been a hit so far. “I love dessert but would often find desserts in restaurants too sweet for my taste,” Ng says. “I still really enjoyed the satisfying richness of it, so we decided to offer a fusion of western and Asian desserts. For example, our tiramisu is rich but still light on the tongue, and we incorporate flavours such as injeolmi , matcha, sesame and hojicha .
