Officials at Mansfield District Council have offered an outlook on the future of a Nottinghamshire housing development after the developer collapsed into administration. The project to build 313 homes off Clipstone Road East, between Clipstone and Forest Town, has stalled after Sherwood Oak Homes fell into administration.

Work started on the first phase of the £100 million housing development named The Oaks in late 2021. Pictures taken in April this year showed a number of homes at the site were well under way, with some seemingly nearing completion. Chiefs at Mansfield District Council said any prospective housebuilders interested in buying the site could build the rest of the development in line with the existing planning permission or put forward fresh plans. Martyn Saxton, head of planning and regeneration, said: “Whilst the company in question may have gone into administration, the development has commenced.
