Research shows that when people feel a dip in psychological well-being, nostalgia can serve to buffer or repair these negative effects. Garlic. Onions. Ginger. Vinegar. Soy sauce. Bay leaf. Chicken. Whole black peppercorns. Banana blossoms. This is my mom’s recipe for chicken adobo, often considered the national dish of the Philippines.
