So many great establishments that we don't want to lose

Across Lancashire, breweries are looking for new people to take on the running of plenty of different pubs.

Thwaites says: "Substantial investment scheme planned for 2023, which will see the property fully refurbished throughout, creating a premium venue. Proposed plans are to include the addition of four letting bedrooms and a small managers flat. Due to the compact size of the catering kitchen, along with the demographics, the scheme will be similar to the highly successful project carried out at the Holcombe Tap in Ramsbottom.

Thwaites says: Located in the village of Eccleston, Chorley, the Brown Cow is a prominent building located on a busy main road. A central bar is surrounded by various seating areas and there is a multi-functional sports room located to the right. A log burning fire creates a cosy and welcoming feel within the winter months. There is a catering kitchen, smoking shelter, beer garden including a children’s play area and parking.

Star Pubs and Bars says: "Post refurbishment The Pleasant retreat will be re-named The Tap & Barrel. The pub is perfectly situated in the centre of Lostock Hall, its attractive façade is unmissable as you pass through the centre of town. The pub is found close to the train station, recreational grounds and local shops, meaning there is a steady flow of customers always looking for a quality drink in a stylish upbeat environment.

Nabs Head, Salmesbury The village pub was listed for sale in March last year for a price tag of £450,000. Nine months on, a different future may be in hand as Thwaites continue to look for someone to reopen it as part of their business. It is described as a popular village pub serving real ales and traditional home cooked food and a pizza menu.

Station Bar and Grill, Clitheroe Located in Clitheroe town centre, the Station Bar and Grill is described as a beatiful, Victorian property and boasts a beer garden and parking spaces which Thwaites say could be converted into a covered dining area. It is available for annual rent of around £33,900. Thwaites says: "There is a central bar, surrounded by various seating options such as large booths and there is a log burner for use during the colder months. The property has a fully equipped catering kitchen and a function room, along with an external seating/smoking area at the rear. Living accommodation consists of four bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom."

Greene King says: "The Victoria Hotel Is a community pub on the outskirts of Skelmersdale. The pub is an important aspect of the local community as it caters for local drinkers and community teams, so strong community ties will be vital to your success. The customer base is mostly working class so value of product will be important.

Black Bull, Penwortham Star Pubs and Bars says: "The Black Bull is a popular wet led local situated in the heart of Penwortham, an affluent suburb of Preston. This pub has been a feature of the local community since the 1800s. It has broad appeal through its excellent reputation for cask ale, live sports, music and quiz nights. The future success of this pub will rely on continuing on with its well-earned reputation as a great community local.
