Jadon Sancho has released a statement after Erik ten Hag explained his decision to drop the English winger from Manchester United's matchday squad on the weekend.

Speaking after the encounter, the Dutchman also explained Sancho's absence from the squad, suggesting his training performances have not been up to scratch over the past week. "We didn't select him. You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices on the frontline, so for this game he wasn't selected."
"Please don't believe everything you read. I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week," he said.
