Santaco lodges court bid to stop impoundments
Santaco is filing another court application to stop the City of Cape Town from impounding taxis.
The council claims law enforcement officials continue to impound taxis, despite an agreement that this will stop.Santaco's leadership is also expected to hold an urgent meeting to discuss the way forward. "Friday we came to an agreement, Saturday they impounded six vehicles again, making us angry, provoking us," said Santaco's Ivan Waldeck."We have an urgent meeting as Santaco leadership, just pray the way forward will be different.
"We have an interdict tomorrow [Mondday]. We are going to submit a court order against the city and the MEC, but we will also decide what is the way forward."
