According to ECSO officials deputies responded to a shots fired disturbance in the 1300 block of Wishbone Road. When deputies arrived they found a 16-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was declared dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident revealed that during a large gathering at the residence of 19-year-old Ethan O’Brien was showing off his firearm. Officials say O’Brien’s gun accidently discharged and struck the 16-year-old.
O’Brien, who fled the scene before deputies could arrive, is wanted for manslaughter through negligence, the ECSO said.UPDATE: Mississippi Highway Patrol now says charter bus involved in crash was carrying University of South Carolina students, not South Alabama students
