These baked turmeric squares are a popular dessert in Middle Eastern countries, are easy to prepare, and make a great pre-training snack.

Turmeric has been gaining more attention since studies have shown its anti-inflammatory benefits. Although its bio-availability remains questionable, there is definitely no harm in including it in smoothies, stews or baked goods. 1 cup granulated sugarSesame seeds, for topping. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, semolina, spices and baking powder. Stir to combine.

In a separate bowl combine oil, milk and sugar and whisk until combined. Add to dry ingredients and mix with an electric mixer until you get a yellowish homogenous batter. Let cool completely, then cut into equal squares.
