The City of Summerside is moving forward with the process of finding and hiring a new chief administrative officer and expects to have selected a new CAO by early fall. At the Summerside council meeting on Aug. 2, the city's acting chief administrative officer Gordon MacFarlane said he was taking another look at hiring someone to enforce municipal bylaws.Summerside city councillors are taking another look at hiring someone to enforce municipal bylaws.
“As you all know, a lot of the bylaw complaints that take up significant time are the property complaints, the long grass type of complaints,” said MacFarlane during the Aug. 2 council meeting.Summerside seniors looking for improved transportation options, seniors advisory committee finds Now, explained MacFarlane, if the work remains undone in the specified amount of time, city staff have the authority to schedule the work themselves.
MacFarlane added that the individual hired for bylaw enforcement would also deal with enforcing parking.
