Stranger Things season 4 introduces some sex appeal in the form of shirtless Steve, but the show as a whole seems reluctant still to explore sex and nudity.
Nancy sneaks a quick peek at Steve's body at this point, and even the kids comment from a distance on his chest hair, which Steve apparently keeps because"the ladies love it." We imagine the producers were fully aware of this too, which might explain why Joe Keery ends up completely shirtless for a large chunk of the next episode as well.
Weird bat things from the Upside Down get a bit too keen, though, and start munching on his torso. Eventually Steve's friends save him and Nancy goes on to bandage up his wounds with what can only be described as a whole lot of eye-f**king.must be an unbearably horny show. But that's just not the case. While the fandom does enjoy lusting over Steve, Robin, and"Daddy Harbs" – to quote a colleague of ours – the show itself is actually pretty tame when it comes to sex and nudity.
That's true of season four as well, despite Chestgate. Because, aside from sexy Steve, the only sexual thing that happens this time around is when naked Murray slinks into an ice bath while on the phone to Joyce. And Joyce isn't exactly feeling it.doesn't need to bump uglies to become a hit. And you could argue that these characters are too busy with thethings that go bump in the night to do so anyway.
Not that sex is vital to every story, but its general omission in what's become quite an adult show does feel odd. And that's particularly true given how muchSex and scares have long been intertwined onscreen for a hugely complex range of reasons. But at its core, the notion of sex in scary movies works so well because they're both designed to be subversive on screen.
But aside from that one early scene and Chestgate in season four, the only thirst to be found in Hawkins came when
