Wenatchee Wild will tangle with the Vernon Vipers in the other BCHL semifinal series
The Junior A loop’s best-of-seven semifinals start Friday and feature the high-flying Victoria Grizzlies, led by projected 2019 NHL draft first-rounder Alex Newhook, taking on the stingy Prince George Spruce Kings.
The other semifinal sees the reigning league champion Wenatchee Wild facing the Vernon Vipers, one of the BCHL’s most successful franchises. Newhook, a St. John’s, Nfld., native in his second year with Victoria and committed to Boston College for next season, had the game winner in the first meeting with Prince George and had one goal and one assist in the second.
