With the holiday season comes the excitement of shopping for gifts and festive treats. Crowded malls and shopping centers, however, can also attract criminals looking for easy targets. This article provides essential safety tips to keep you, your belongings, and your children safe during your holiday shopping adventures.

Walking through crowded malls in search of Christmas goodies and gifts while carrying your handbag, countless bags and keeping your child from breaking anything you can't afford to buy makes you an attractive target to criminals looking to grab wallets, purses and even your purchases.

Always try to walk to and from your vehicle with another person. If you are shopping alone, consider walking near other shoppers in the parking area. Remove your child's jersey once you are indoors as overheated children can get very cranky.
