Rassie Erasmus has suggested the Springboks are likely to opt for some different selection for Saturday's semi-final against England.
This past weekend, a lot of the Springboks’ selections were specifically made for the challenge France would pose, and it will be very interesting to see whether any changes are made this week.
Could Handre Pollard return to the No 10 jersey? Perhaps with Faf de Klerk back as his halfback partner?For the English team, the Springboks may also want to revert to a 6-2 bench. There is also the very big question of whether Lukhanyo Am could be considered for a role among the matchday 23, while there is also talk that Canan Moodie is set to be included.
Although the Springboks have made it a tradition to name their match day squads earlier in the week, they went against that last week, while the World Rugby schedule has confirmed that their team announcement this week will be on Thursday.Rassie Erasmus’ wild celebrations after win over France“There’s a temptation to put Canan Moodie in the mix with the way England plays, along with going for a six-two split,” Erasmus.
“We also would like to see what England will do and the way they’re going. When France went six-two, we went five-three. The half-back pairing and the flyhalf may switch around and Lukhanyo is looking great, but so is Canan.”
