Early Saturday, B.C. Hydro said that crews worked overnight and power had been restored to 185,000 customers. “One challenge the crews faced during the night was falling trees, which made it too dangerous for them to access some areas to begin repair work,” B.C. Hydro said, in a statement Saturday.Article content

Crews are still receiving reports of downed power lines. A downed power line is an emergency. B.C. Hydro is reminding people that if they see a downed line they should call 911 and stay at least 10 metres back. B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation is warning drivers to be wary of snow on highways this weekend. Snowfall warnings are in effect Saturday for the Cariboo, Columbia, Kootenay and Peace regions.
