Siphiwe Nyanda warns coalition with MKP would allow Zuma to 'finish his job' of destroying ANC
Former uMkhonto weSizwe Council chairman, and ANC Veterans League and MK Liberation War Veterans member Siphiwe Nyanda has penned an impassioned plea to the ANC leadership not to get in bed with the party led by their former president Jacob Zuma, saying it would amount to inviting back a"nemesis" to its fold.
Zuma's MKP emerged from the elections as the third biggest party in the country, only six months after its formation, despite not having anything to show in terms of clearly defined policies or plans.
Nyanda also criticises the ANC's leadership for defending Zuma's actions during his tenure, despite the negative impact on the party's electoral support, as well as the impact on South Africa as a whole. He criticises the then secretary-general Ace Magashule for not taking decisive action, and suggests that all these oversights are now back to haunt the party, and are the reason for to the severely weakened position it finds itself in.
He says that only when this failed, they formed their own parties and continued to mission to destabilise the party, leading to the recent electoral disgrace.
