You’re hired.” It’s part of a recruitment campaign for skilled workers the province of Alberta is running here and in Ontario.
So, we’re trying to convince their workers to move here at the same time they’re trying to convince our workers to go west. And what does that mean? It's a good time to encourage young people to go into the trades. Or to become a health care worker. At the same time, we’re in dire need of people to get things built, we’re also looking to have people care for those folks who helped build our province over the last several generations. And it seems like the money is flowing to try and make the best case about why Nova Scotia should be their home base for their future.
A lot of people in my graduating class of 1988 went down the road and built a life somewhere else.
