Victoria hosts Coquitlam next Friday

The Victoria Shamrocks outpaced the Burnaby Lakers by a 17-7 count in a ­Western Lacrosse Association game ­Friday night at The Q Centre.

Tom Vaesen led Victoria with six goals and two assists for eight points. Marshal King also had eight points on five goals and three assists. Cole Pickup added a hat-trick on a five-point night before 1,642 fans.The game marked the return of veterans King, Dallas Wade and Cory Conway to the Shamrocks lineup along with rookie Casey Wilson from the NCAA Div. 1 University of Denver, who will represent Canada at the world championship tournament this month in San Diego.
