Second-round pick Etienne Morin joins familiar faces with Flames organization

“I still consider myself a two\u002Dway defenceman,” Calgary Flames draft pick Etienne Morin said.

In 67 games with the Wildcats, Morin scored 21 goals and collected 51 assists this past season. That was third-most among defencemen in the QMJHL.

Morin will be at Flames development camp when it kicks off next week, but it will likely be a couple years before he’s skating with the NHL team. Whenever Morin does arrive in Calgary, it seems he’ll have the distinct advantage of having some familiarity with a couple guys already in the Flames’ system. It’s not just Pelletier, either.
