The Devils have acquired Tyler Toffoli from the Flames in exchange for Yegor Sharangovich and a 2023 3rd-round pick. MORE:
The 31-year-old Toffoli has been rumoured to be on the move for weeks after putting together a career season with the Flames, recording 34 goals and 39 assists for 73 points over 82 games to lead the team in scoring. It was his first full season in Calgary after being acquired from the Montreal Canadiens last season.
Toffoli has one season remaining on his four-year, $17 million contract which features an average annual value of $4.25 million. Over 733 career games with the Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Canadiens and Flames, Toffoli has 227 goals and 239 assists. He also has 18 goals and 26 assists over 88 playoff games, helping the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2014.
Toffoli, a native of Scarborough, Ont., also captained Team Canada to the gold medal at the recent World Hockey Championship in Finland. Sharangovich, a 25-year-old from Belarus, scored 13 goals and 17 assists over 75 games with the Devils in 2022-23, his third season in New Jersey. He scored 53 goals and 53 assists over 205 career games with the Devils after they selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
