The effort is to create a set of guidelines to try to prevent sexual harassment and exploitation during the filming of nudity or any other kind of 'hyper-exposed' work on film and TV sets.
SAG-AFTRA announced on Sunday their plan to work with Alicia Rodis, the associate director and co-founder of Intimacy Directors International , to create a set of guidelines to try to prevent sexual harassment and exploitation during the filming of nudity or any other kind of"hyper-exposed" work on film and TV sets.
"The guidelines will seek to establish new, relevant policies for nudity and simulated sex; define the duties and standards for intimacy coordinators on productions; and specify acceptable training, vetting and qualifications of intimacy coordinators," SAG-AFTRA described in a press release.The organization aims to encourage productions to hire their own intimacy coordinators to oversee sex scenes. Official policies for nudity and simulated sex will be created.
