Two general purpose vehicle lanes will be removed to install protected bike lanes along Tillicum Road in Saanich.

Construction is scheduled to start in early August and is expected to last until late 2022.

“I’m thrilled to see this safety improvement move forward this summer,” said Rebecca Mersereau, councillor and chair of the Active Transportation Committee, in a news release. “Council is committed to road safety. We know improving conditions for pedestrians and cyclists on Tillicum will address an important gap in safe infrastructure and help enable residents to have multiple transportation options.”Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
