P.E.I. fiddling sensation Richard Wood will play during an East Coast kitchen party at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown on Jan. 27.CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Five-time ECMA and multiple Music P.E.I. award-winner Richard Wood and his friends will perform for an evening of live music and dance at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall on Jan. 27.
The show will also feature performances by Keelin Wedge, Caroline Bernard, Rémi Arsenault, as well as special guests Christine Cameron, Eddy Quinn, Jolee Patkai, Jon Matthews, Kendall Docherty and Nolan Compton, who is returning to his hometown after moving to Alberta. In addition, Somerset dancers Alexis MacLaren and Isla Rousseaux-Bridle will be performing, as well as the 2022 recipient of the Faye and Richard Wood Fiddle Scholarship Award, 11-year-old Samuel Richard.
Doors open at the venue located at 140 Weymouth St. in Charlottetown at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. The event will also feature a 50-50 draw, with proceeds going to the Faye and Richard Wood annual Fiddle Scholarship Award at the College of Piping. Concert and accommodation packages are available through the Great George boutique hotel, including one night’s stay, two tickets to the show, a $75 Murphy Hospitality Group dining card, breakfast for two, a guest reception, parking and internet.
