Residents and businesses on a Nottinghamshire road say they are relieves after a flat which became a hotspot for crime was finally closed. Nottinghamshire Police and Ashfield District Council closed the flat on Broomhill Road, Hucknall for three months after receiving ongoing reports of antisocial behaviour.
“I’ve been scared walking around here, especially when it’s dark.” One cashier at Your Local shop on Broomhill Road explained that the business has dealt with thefts multiple times. Another woman, Paula Lewis, 56, said one of the tenants in the flat caused a lot of trouble. She said: “I know a lady who lived underneath that flat and she’s had a lot of trouble with the tenants.
