Ronnie McKinnon appeared almost 500 times for Rangers during a 12 year spell at Ibrox and is considered one of the club's greatest ever centre backs winning a number of titles.
The defender was a vital cog in Scot Symon's 1963-64 side which went on to win a historic treble. Playing nearly 500 times for the Gers during a 12 year tenure and is regarded as one of the club's greatest ever centre backs.
During his time at Ibrox McKinnon won two league titles, four Scottish Cups and three League Cups. He also played in the 1967 Cup Winners' Cup final loss to Bayern Munich. Ronnie was part of the 1967 Wembley Wizards who beat the World Champions England 3-2.
After leaving Rangers he travelled to South Africa where he played for local side Durban United. McKinnon returned to Scotland and moved to the Isle of Harris.A Rangers statement read: "Everyone associated with Rangers Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former player, Ronnie McKinnon, at the age of 83."McKinnon, a Hall of Fame member, won two league titles, four Scottish Cups and three League Cups, while he was also capped 28 times by Scotland.
