Eskom's Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, has stated he will be the first to officially declare the end of load shedding in South Africa. While Eskom reported a record 329 days of load shedding in the previous financial year, the current year has seen significant improvement with no load shedding and substantial savings on open cycle gas turbine spend. Despite this progress, there is a high risk of load shedding returning as early as this weekend due to ongoing system strain.
