A Democratic United States congressman has condemned what he called President Donald Trump’s reckless and baseless, calling it a move driven by racist disinformation and political bias.
Jackson has urged the Trump administration and congressional leaders to restore aid to South Africa by reaffirming America’s commitment to diplomacy, economic cooperation and humanitarian assistance. He warned that Trump’s actions not only undermined the diplomatic and economic relationship but also jeopardised life-saving programmes including HIV/AIDS assistance; even as the US Embassy confirmed that PEPFAR funding and programmes would resume under a limited waiver.a measure aimed at correcting historical injustices, while labelling tech billionaire Elon Musk as having no credibility on the issue.
