"He was able to talk for a while and seemed okay, then out of nowhere he just keeled over. A lot of us actually thought he had died.
"He was unaware of what happened, he didn't have a clue. As far as we're aware he was by himself when it happened. People saw him walking past the Murray Square coming from Heathery Knowe so it didn't happen anywhere near the Square. "It's something we'll not forget in a hurry. You hear stories of people fighting around here but to actually have somebody with their throat slit come in, that's quite extreme.A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson said: "We received a call at 2020 hours on Saturday to attend an incident on Whitehills Terrace. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Queen Elizabeth University.
