The provincial government provided an update today on Hurricane Fiona recovery efforts on the province’s southwest coast.There are 48 displaced residents now being housed in a total of 22 hotel rooms in the area.
Premier Andrew Furey says as of Monday, the $30 million in relief funding announced last week was already starting to be distributed. NL Hydro CEO Jennifer Williams says the bulk of the damage caused in this province stemmed from storm surge and power outages here were isolated and largely caused by wind.
